The Anglican Church of Korea is the Anglican Communion province for Korea, covering North Korea in principle and South Korea in practice. Founded in the late nineteenth century, it now functions as an independent national church with its own archbishop and three dioceses.
The church is a single metropolitan province made up of the dioceses of Seoul, Daejeon, and Busan. Its primacy rotates among those dioceses, so the current primate also continues to serve as diocesan bishop of Busan.
The province became fully independent in the early 1990s when the Archbishop of Canterbury transferred metropolitan authority to the new Korean primate. The Diocese of Seoul also treats North Korea as a missionary diocese, though that jurisdiction is not separately registered within the Anglican Communion.
| Diocese | Area | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Seoul | Seoul and the northwest | Historic original Korean diocese; North Korea treated as missionary diocese |
| Daejeon | Central and southwest South Korea | Created from the old Korea diocese in 1965 |
| Busan | Southeast South Korea | Created in 1974; current primatial diocese |
