Anglican Church of Tanzania
Intro
The Anglican Church of Tanzania is the Anglican Communion province based in Dodoma and serving mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. It emerged as a separate province in 1970 after the former Province of East Africa was divided, and today it brings together dioceses across the country under a primate who remains bishop of his own diocese.
Structure
The church follows episcopal polity, with parishes grouped into dioceses and each diocese headed by its own bishop. Wikipedia says the province currently has 28 dioceses, with 27 on the mainland and one on Zanzibar, while the archbishop serves as both metropolitan and primate.
The primatial office is non-geographical, so whichever diocesan bishop is elected archbishop continues to serve that see while also leading the whole province.
