Anglican Communion
Intro
The Anglican Communion is a worldwide fellowship of autonomous churches rooted in the historic tradition of the Church of England.
Its member churches are in communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury, who serves as a symbolic focus of unity rather than a central ruler.
These churches share Anglican foundations in scripture, worship, episcopal leadership, and inherited practice while governing themselves locally.
The Communion includes dozens of member churches across many countries and territories and represents many millions of baptized Christians.
Its shared life is coordinated through consultative bodies such as the Lambeth Conference, the Anglican Consultative Council, and the Primates' Meeting.
